Family History

Pages describing where we came from, our ancestors, how they settled on the Ohio frontier, and information about the Scotch-Irish in America.  The story of Levi Strong and his service in the Civil war and death at Andersonville is part of that story.

The Henry Family of North Benton

Richard Henry was my grandmother’s father.  He was raised in Poland, Ohio, where his grandfather was an early Ohio Pioneer, as he moved from Washington County, PA to Poland circa 1803.  The story of the family is documented in a genealogy researched by Dora Henry.  A summary of her research is available by a click on the button on the right.  A copy of her complete genealogy is also available in PDF format from that page.
